Welcome to Point. | Holistic Wellness!
My mission is to guide you on a holistic path to well-being by providing accessible, affordable, and integrative healthcare. Using ancient tools and wisdom passed down from generations of healers, this medicine is more than just acupuncture, but herbal formulations and methods of manipulation - such as gua sha and cupping, nutritional counseling and lifestyle modifications. Chinese Medicine, and my approach, boosts the body’s intuitive ability to heal itself, empowering you to be the healer on your own quest.
Most patients in the Western medical system often feel uninformed, unsupported, and misunderstood. They become a passive administer of their own healthcare - being told what to do, what medicines to take, with little to no explanation of what they do and the many side effects they will have. Chinese medicine, on the other hand, has little to no side effects, are all natural plants and herbs found in nature, and in many of the foods you currently eat. Learning how to use this ancient art form, in concert, with the diagnostics and imaging of Western medicine, puts the power in your own hands. And since the methods of this medicine are simply tools to help the body jumpstart its own innate healing capacity, it is safe and effective to use both preventatively, as well as for acute and chronic pain and illness.
I realize the importance of patients taking an active role in their own health. I serve to support and inform you of all that is available to help your body heal itself. The body has the tools; sometimes it just needs to be pointed in the right direction.

Why Did I Become An Acupuncturist?

The simple truth is that, as a child, I had an extremely irrational fear of needles. Once I became aware of acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, I wanted to learn more and understand how something that could cause me so much anxiety and emotional trauma as a child, could be a powerful healing tool.
My first degree was in Communications and Advertising Design and after I graduated I decided to follow my biggest passion at the time and travel the world by myself. My first trip was a mixture of a year and a half of settling and backpacking throughout Australia and SE Asia. It was at this time that I really honed my intuition and confidence in myself. Over the course of the next few years I found myself traveling solo to Asia, Africa, Europe, and parts of the Middle East. But throughout all of these trips I never really felt like I had a purpose. I saw all these amazing places and they gave me so much, but I didn't feel like I had given much in return. I wanted a skill I could take with me anywhere.
In 2010 I decided to move across the country from NY to CA to begin my studies at Emperor's College in Santa Monica. I chose this school (the #2 nationally ranked acupuncture school) and California because the state had the most stringent requirements and it is rumored that the California Acupuncture Licensing Exam (CALE) is the hardest in the nation. If I was going to start a new career, I wanted to do it in the most challenging and best place possible, that way I would be fully prepared and confident in my skills.
It was during this time that I had the opportunity to practice as an acupuncture intern at the Venice Family Clinic in Venice; Being Alive HIV clinic in West Hollywood; and the Roy and Patricia Disney Family Cancer Center at Providence Hospital in Burbank. I graduated from the program summa cum laude. After graduation I pioneered a successful acupuncture program at Rancho Santana in Nicaragua. I hold individual licenses, in both the state of California and nationally, as a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine.
I fully believe in the power and history of Eastern Medicine and I feel that there is a place in today's society for both Western and Eastern medicine - especially in concert with one another. They both have their strengths and can certainly compliment one another. I look forward to guiding you on this journey.
